Founded in Orange County by Belinda Kazanci and Adam Beltran in 2000, Echocell set down roots in Los Angeles in 2003. Over the years, they have attracted a dynamic group of international musicians to further enhance their sound and live performance.
Today Kazanci and Beltran are joined by John Wells on bass, Lorenzo Grassi on guitar, Aram Zarikian on drums and Sevag Kazanci on turntables and additional programming.
Echocell's unique combination of pulsating beats, electronic arrangements, and catchy melodies have made them a regular act at many well-known Los Angeles venues such
as The House of Blues, Hard Rock Café, The El Rey Theatre, The Roxy, and The Viper Room.
Additionally, their unique combination of Armenian, European and American nationalities has also made them welcome to events such as the Armenian Music Awards at the Hollywood Palladium in 2005.
In 2004, Echocell inspired filmmaker Thomas Hale to collaborate with them on the video for their hit single "Vessel". The song, and the dark, moody imagery captured in the video epitomizes Echocell's edgy, penetrating vibe. This video was recently selected to appear in this year's "Can't Dance" music video compilation at the Sundance Film Festival.
Echocell's daring vision and sound can also be found in their remake of Pink Floyd's "Shine on You Crazy Diamond," featured on the electronic tribute album to Pink Floyd released by Vitamin Records. The band has also been invited to contribute two songs to the Los Feliz Village compilation.
Eagerly anticipated by their fans, Echocell released their 2nd EP entitled "Soul Hangover" in 2005. The EP is co-produced and co-mixed by John Avila of Oingo Boingo. It also features their hit single, "Vessel." The album has been released on Fiberline Audio.
